Isabel Altamirano
Isabel M. Altamirano is the Engineering and Chemistry Librarian – Georgia Tech Library. She assists students and faculty in their research by locating the correct resources to answer questions. She also teaches classes on using library resources and LaTeX software. She has increased her outreach with underrepresented students in order to show them how the library can contribute to their academic success. She has partnered with the Center of Teaching and Learning to assist faculty and graduate students improve their teaching skills through the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. She was a 2019 Diversity & Inclusion Fellow to study first-generation students. She completed training at the LGBTQIA Resource Center and was selected as a Liaison. She continues to present at conferences. She has earned a Scopus (database) Librarian Certificate and has applied the knowledge for advanced searching. Altamirano has a Masters in Library and Information Science from Louisiana State University.
